The "1st Euro-MedHackathon: Eco-Efficiency in the Agro-Food Chain" will take place in Amman (Jordan) from 14th to 15th December 2016. The 2-day event has been organized by MedSpring and will be hosted by HCST, in collaboration with STRD-II programme, MHESR, and CIHEAM-IAMB.
Following the first successful brokerages organized in the framework of MedSpring project (Cairo, 2014; Berlin, 2015; Bari, 2016), this year the first Euro-MedHackathon will be organized to host young innovators, researchers, international companies and entrepreneurs from different EU and Mediterranean countries with the aim to developing novel ideas which could have a strategic impact in the field of agro-food chain sustainability. About 50 applications were collected through a specific "Call for proposals" that was closed on 31 October.
A Panel composed by representatives of Private sponsoring companies (Barilla Group, SPRING, Torino Wireless and Seeds & Chips) evaluated the innovative ideas and selected 30 applications to participate in the Hackathon event.
