Info Day on Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 2

The INFO DAY on Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 2 (‘Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research and the bioeconomy’) took place in Brussels on 17th January 2014.

The Work Programme is being made public before its official adoption to provide potential participants with the currently expected main lines over the period; as such it is a working document not yet endorsed by the Commission and its contents does not in any way prejudge the final decision of the Commission.

Societal Challenge 2 covers four calls for proposals under which projects can apply for funding:

  • Sustainable Food Security
  • Blue Growth
  • Innovative Sustainable and Inclusive Bioeconomy
  • Leading enabling Technologies (LEIT) biotechnologies

 

Participation in the Info day was free of charge. Horizon 2020 is the new EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, succeeding FP7. Running from 2014 to 2020 with a budget of just over €70 billion, Horizon 2020 is part of the drive to create new growth and jobs in Europe. Horizon 2020 reflects the policy priorities of the Europe 2020 strategy and addresses major concerns shared by citizens in Europe and elsewhere.
