TRANSMED Programme aims at continuing the Prospective Reflection Workshop "Partnership and Research in the Mediterranean" (ARP Parme), an action started in 2010 by the ANR and coordinated by Agropolis International.
Based on the analysis of prospective studies already carried out in this region, the discussions held in the workshop showed the urgency of addressing the research through a better understanding of the systemic nature of current developments, as well as ensuring the validity of new potential policies. The workshop aimed at creating or strengthening links between researchers from the two sides of the Mediterranean, through the development of joint research projects and interdisciplinary character.
The launch in 2012 of a first call for research proposals concluded with the selection of six research projects under the three following topics: "Societies and Territories ", "Sustainable management of resources" and "food security, food, health." All these projects address issues characterized by strong interrelationships between different fields of study.
